Kanji Kanban Japanese Sign #231- School Sports Festival

Use the rikaichan popup dictionary or your favorite reference tool with my transcription below the photo if you need help reading this sign announcing my local public elementary school’s sports festival.

Sports Day is a national holiday in Japan,  currently celebrated on the 2nd Monday in October.  The holiday commemorates the 1964 Tokyo Olympics,  and aims to promote sports and an active lifestyle.  With Tokyo’s recent winning bid for the 2020 games,  sports festivals held this weekend should be especially festive, with so many people still basking in the glow of the Japan Olympic Committees’ successful campaign.

The numbers below refer to the kanji I’ve transcribed below the photo, and correspond to their order of appearance in both Heisig’s Remembering the Kanji and Kanji in Context.
